Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Exolus Basic Ltd. (Company Number 09879009, registered in England & Wales) and its affiliate Exolus Basic Ltd. (Registration Number 514525260, Israel) — collectively "Exolus Basic", "we", "our", or "us" — operate the Exolus Basic screen recording application. 2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate our service:

  • Account data: Email address, name, and password hash when you create an account.
  • Billing data: Payment information is processed by Stripe. We store only the last 4 digits of your card and billing address.
  • Usage data: Crash reports, feature usage statistics, and app telemetry (anonymized).
  • Cloud recordings: Only if you use cloud sync. Recordings are encrypted at rest and in transit.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Exolus Basic application and services
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, product updates)
  • Diagnose bugs and improve app stability
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

4. Data storage and security

Data is stored on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). We use AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.3 for all data in transit. Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only, and all access is logged and audited.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

Right to access your data

Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
Right to data portability
Right to restrict processing
Right to object to processing

To exercise any of these rights, email support@exolus-basic.tech. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to retain (e.g., billing records for 7 years per EU tax law).

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You cannot disable essential cookies without losing access to your account.

9. Children's privacy

Exolus Basic is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Exolus Basic after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
